Editorial policy

Editorial policy

Our goal is accurate, useful and clearly sourced coverage of software and technology.

Sourcing

Every article is based on a primary source, such as the product page, repository, documentation, release notes or the company's own announcement, and links to it. We do not publish quotes, figures, prices or release dates that the source does not support.

How we use AI

We use AI software to monitor sources, prepare drafts and update articles when a project changes. Before a draft can be published it is checked automatically:

  • the wording is compared with the source, so articles explain rather than copy;
  • the model must list any statement the source does not directly support, and drafts with unsupported claims or low confidence are not published automatically;
  • drafts are screened for topics we do not cover (below) and for length and structure.

Drafts that fail any of these checks are held for an editor instead of being published. Updated articles carry a dated note that explains what changed.

What we do not cover

Pirated or cracked software, license key generators, gambling, adult content, and tools built to harm or deceive other people.
